In an email last night, Canadian standout Natalie Achonwa from Ontario informed that that she verbally committed to Notre Dame. The 6-foot-2 Class of 2010 combo forward has a great showing at Jay Bee Bethea's Midwest Showdown Memorial Day weekend. She made the Canadian Senior National Team and appears to have a real shot to make the Olympic Team in 2012. As of right now, her schedule is not going to allow her to be at any viewing events. Achonwa's commitment coupled with All-American point guard Skylar Diggins' entering as a freshman gives head coach Muffet McGraw reason to be excited as she hits the recruiting trail this summer.
