Okay, I am finding out a little more about the Kentucky Wildcats Tournament…
I am not sure what is the deal with this no: 10 count and no shot clock!!! Even the NBA has a shot clock. They tried that at AAU State and by some sort of coincidence that happened at this tournament co-sponsored by Essence. Even the officials said that they didn’t know why they were doing that this year, when those things were in place. Whatever the case, I am still not changing my rankings. I know that Essence had a team from all over, the Rams had a team together, but no matter where you are from, you have to play at all times and expect whatever to take place. And you know that I am going to keep it real…….

I wish that the people who text me and emailed personally would come on here and state your thoughts. I am glad that I am one of the trusted people, but please note that if you wish to say anything on here, you don’t have to worry about being attacked from the moderators/administrators if you state an unpopular opinion. I am not going to use any Webmaster tools to go after you. That’s just not how it’s done on here. I truly believe that some of you use me to say aloud what you really want to and you know that I will do just that. So here we go:

Is there something shady with this no shot clock or: 10 count. Yes, I do. They didn’t do that last year, so why this year. But you can’t blame a game on that. You just have to come prepared and ready for everything. AAU State tried the same thing. It’s just fishy.

I guess my new rankings are not so popular due to the technical fact that the teams are supposed to be Florida teams. I could have made a list for Florida teams and another list for Florida teams playing nationally and while you at it, I could have done a national ranking. There are a lot of factors involved. Some kids play for multiple teams. I don’t know, I thought the list was an honest assessment.

I think that I made J-Hen from Sunshine State Exposure somewhat mad today with the help of the two people that made bets with me. I got a text saying that the bet that J-Hen will update his website with the results from the Essence/Rams game within 24 hrs although he has not updated his site in awhile. I made a bet that he would update the site by the end of business today. J-Hen did not find that funny. For yall that did not do Breakdown and don’t understand this paragraph, I talked offline to J-Hen for a minute but did not know that he was close to Essence. Now that does not mean anything, because I am a Rams supporter, Billy and Jason are Jags; Kurt is a Comet and so on. We don’t hide it or act like we are not apart of our group. That’s when it begins to look shady. So last year when the Rams were down 2 people, J-Hen all of a sudden wanted an Essence/Rams match when all they could have done was to show up to Spring Fling. Then he contradicted himself on his site and you know I had to do my thing. So I got one of my good old emails telling me that J-Hen and Essence were on the same team. Then it made sense.

This was my favorite question of the day. “Angie, why in the world did the Rams bring a combination of 14-16u girls, when the other teams had seniors and big time players from all over.” I did not know the rules. I asked Coach Bannister and he didn’t know also. I said for a team that got kicked out of the FHSAA for a parent being in the gym demonstrating, you sure need to know the clear and cut things that you are allowed to do. FHSAA rules aren’t really specified, but I would imagine that tournament rules are and they should have known that they could have beefed up a little. The Rams are some bad cheaters….lol. Coach Bannister makes the decisions about what tournaments he attends. But, I didn’t know all the players at this tournament and conveniently he did not tell me about it in detail. I question everything.

Don’t get to crazy about the rankings. One thing you know about me is that I am fair and I am always going to look out for us all. I am going to be honest; therefore I don’t need a good memory. I was on the job when AAU thought that they were going to do the thing at Spring Fling and State. I emailed them directly, because I want them to know that a lot of us are on to you and there are teams that want to be treated fairly especially if we got to pay for it.

In shocking news the Orlando Comets Black was said to defear Team Breakdown. The Orlando Comets Black is like the 3rd tier team for the Orlando Comets. This win only reconfirms the earlier rankings done by everyone other than a Breakdown supporter. To recap these was the rankings done by Team Breakdowns coach:

Travel Team rankings (16u)

1. Jax Lady Rams – Their body of work this season has been impressive with tournament wins at Florida AAU States and Spring Fling II. Can’t imagine too many teams in the country having a better group of guards than Rountree, Stringfield, Briggs, and Bannister.
2. Essence – Don’t do much in Florida and from what I understand about half their team is comprised of players from neighboring states. However, you can’t ignore the Florida talent on this team. And if there's a team that can match the Rams' foursome it could be this group's fantastic foursome of Hall, Johnson, Woods, and Prince .
3. D.E.B.O. – Say what you will, but they won Spring Fling I with wins over Hollywood Eagles and a Henson-less Comets team. A head-to-head win is a head-to-head win. Also, don’t want to fail to mention that they might have the best player in the state in Jones.
4. Breakdown – Played their first in-state event this weekend and won the AAU Gold Coast qualifier, the unofficial South Florida championship. McGraw, Williams, and Howard are the top juniors, but the underclassmen are already drawing interest from high major D1 schools.
5. Orlando Comets Red – Started off slow, but things have picked up nicely since Henson and Jackson’s return to the line-up. No question a much better team with Henson and Jackson in the fold. Looked good at two most recent events, the SFII and AAU States.
6. Below The Rim – They’re a big man away from being a top 5 team. One of the more underrated teams in the state. Nice mix of snipers (De La Cruz, Osceola, and Kelton) and slashers (Lyttle, Rose, and Livingston).
7. Hollywood Eagles – Nice showing at SFI, but forfeit to Below The Rim keeps them at #7. Having Segarra will help them and gives them a proven ball-handler that will find the open man.
8. South Florida Jags – Showed well at SFII. Coddington, Carson, and Wright along with the out-of-towners will need to shoulder the load beginning next month.
9. Clutch – One of the few 15u teams playing solely on the 16u circuit. There’s been some good and some bad, but the future looks bright. Injuries have been an issue, which comes from playing up and having some bad luck as well.
10. FGB – Strong start in the spring, but disappointing performance at AAU states drops them out of top 5 consideration.
11. Waverunners – Another underrated team that will only be better with some possible additions coming in.
12. Citrus Wildcats – A couple of good showings at SFI and AAU States, including a nice win over FGB throws their name in the mix.

FL B-BALL - No question who the top team in Florida is right now after how handily Essence took care of the Lady Rams over the weekend. Hopefully, in the next couple of weekends (UM Team Jam & SFLJ Tournament) we'll get a clearer picture of who comes in behind the top 2 teams.

I don't understand how anyone can rank FGB/Exodus at #3? Isn't this the same FGB/Exodus squad that lost games to Suncoast Wolfpack and Citrus Wildcats at the AAU State Tournamento a couple of weeks ago. Also, if the Comets 15u team are going to be ranked, shouldn't they be ranked ahead of teams they've beaten this travel season. Here's how the top teams on the 16u circuit currently stack up:

1. Essence - Impressive double-digit win in Lexington against Lady Rams puts them over the top.
2. Jax Lady Rams - Dropped from top spot after getting handled by Essence, but they still have SFII and AAU State titles under their belt.
3. D.E.B.O. - Been relatively quiet since SFI, and not sure if they'll be able to hold this spot going into July if they don't play in June.
4. Breakdown - Will get their chance to move up depending on how they do over the next couple of weeks at UM Team Jam and SFLJ Tournament.
5. Orlando Comets Red - They're playing good ball right now, and depending how they do this weekend at UM Team Jam could lock them in at #3 going into July.
6. Below The Rim - Did well for themselves this weekend in Cincinnati going 4-1 with wins over some national caliber teams.
7. Hollywood Eagles - Solid club. Don't have the big names some other programs have, but they still get the job done.
8. South Florida Jags - Solid backcourt in CJ and Carson, but they need major contributions from the out of state kids in order to leap into the top 3-5.
9. Clutch/Fowles - Still a year away from being a top 3-5 team on the 16u circuit. When healthy, they could be the top 15u in the state.
10. Waverunners - Every day that 3-point loss to BTR at SFI makes them look better and better.
11. Citrus Wildcats - Messed up in the earlier rankings, this squad beat FGB/Exodus in their head to head and had a better finish at AAU States.
12. FGB/Exodus - Played well in the Spring, but bad losses to Citrus Wildcats and Suncoast Wolfpack a few weeks ago keeps them at #12.
