Mayor- To answer your question about what it takes to be #1, I dont know. Clearly, I feel (and so does many other girls travel ball enthusiasts) that the Lady Rams are the best team in Florida hands down. Unless teams decide to combine and form an all-star team, I dont see anyone beating the Rams from what I saw at Spring Fling and AAU States. I saw Essence at Boo Williams, saw Breakdown at the FGB Invite, played against the Comets Red, saw BTR, played against FGB Elite, played against the PC Ballas (which the Rams have already beaten), and have seen just about every elite level team in Florida aside from the Brevard Bulls and Wellington Wolves (who we'll play on Sat), and I dont see any of us that could dethrone the Rams from being the best team in the state this yr or next year.
I read Kenny's articles and I cant really complain much about the Cavs not receiving high top 5 recognition, but when you consider the state's top 10 programs, I think that we deserve to be mentioned somewhere before 11. The Cavs have had some tough breaks and havent played a tournament yet at full strength. Next wk we're hoping to have 2 of our top players back from injury and parental discipline and maybe then, we can demonstrate why we belong in the top 10. As for other programs, I agree with Coach Billy in that those opinions are Kenny's feelings and, though I respect them, I know that he has loyalty for his program and participants (somewhat biased) and so I dont necessarily agree with all of them.
