The competition up here is fierce!
This tournament was the best thing we could have done. It exposed our weaknesses and strengths.
You don't know what you need to work on until you are put thru the fire!
There are very few teams that we know of in the south east that could come up here and make any serious noise
with the exception of the Rams. They are really one of the only teams that have ventured out over the years and
taken on the national challenge and it has paid HUGE DIVIDENDS. We intend to follow their lead.
We will come back to this same tourney next season. It is a great tune up going into July.
Our Elite team is young and with all players returning next season we feel that we can really compete next year.
The Elite level in the midwest is not the same in the south east. They really turn it up a knotch with strong fundamentals
and agressive play. The refs up there let you play and the rule of thumb is "No blood no foul" and I mean blood!
Coach Jason and myself will develop a new training regemin to work on our girls weaknesses.
I highly reccomend that all coaches get their girls out of the same old tournaments and try something new.
Expose your girls to many different styles of play. You can only do that if you venture out and take a risk!
Sometimes I think we get caught up in collecting hardware (trophies). When we should be going on a limb and
really pushing our players to the max. COACHES and players need to understand that there is another level out there.
We, as coaches learned that we need to tweak our stratagy in certain games to allow our players to thrive off of their strengths.
