Girls basketball: Lincoln Park finishes unbeaten in District 12-4A

Chalk up another undefeated district run for Lincoln Park Academy's girls basketball team.
Brandy Montgomery scored a game-high 31 points Friday as the Greyhounds routed St. Andrew's 60-37 to complete a sweep of District 12-4A.
Montgomery hit all seven free throws, tossed in two 3-point goals and finished with seven rebounds and seven assists.
Alexis Jean added nine points and 10 rebounds, and Stephanie Ball had 11 points and three steals for Lincoln Park (17-2, 8-0 district), which won its 27th consecutive district game.
The Greyhounds made 11 of 13 free throws, a percentage that pleased coach Wendell Adams.
"What I'm most proud of is the way we've been shooting our foul shots," Adams said. "If we keep that up going into the playoffs, that will be a key for us."
Lincoln Park, which had its full lineup for the first time since before Christmas, played its eighth consecutive road game. The Greyhounds finish the the regular season with home games against Martin County on Monday and Fort Pierce Central on Wednesday.
Angela Alvarez scored 16 points for St. Andrew's.
St. Lucie West Centennial 64, Jensen Beach 58: Meredith Flynn and Miranda Wilt had double-doubles to overcome another high-scoring effort from the Falcons' Ashley Robinson in a non-district win at Port St. Lucie.
Flynn had 27 points and 10 rebounds. Wilt finished with 10 points, 16 rebounds and five assists for St. Lucie West Centennial (8-8).
Washington had 15 points.
Robinson, who entered the game averaging 24.2 points, scored a game-high 38. She was 14-of-14 from the free-throw line and scored 18 points in the fourth quarter.
Centennial plays at Sebastian River at 7 p.m. Monday.
Vero Beach 52, Merritt Island 31: Kendall Hedgecock had 19 points and three steals as the Fighting Indians won a non-district game at Vero Beach.
Kayla Woulard added eight points, Margie Smith had eight assists and Jackie Halpin had six steals for Vero Beach (13-7).
Brooke Gilliam scored 11 points for Merritt Island.
Vero Beach plays Bishop Moore at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Dig Pink Shootout at University High School in Orlando.
St. Edward's 41, Morningside Academy 27: Tyiesha McLendon scored nine points and Sophia Casterberti added eight for the Pirates in a non-district game in Port St. Lucie.
Kelli Ann Sterrett had 11 points and six rebounds for the Eagles (4-6).
Morningside Academy plays at Donna Klein at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
Melbourne Central Catholic 62, John Carroll 38: Palupcia Alcindor scored 14 points for the Golden Rams (9-11, 2-4 district) in a District 6-3A game in Melbourne.
John Carroll plays at Brevard HEAT at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
