4-star W Keonna Farmer re-opens recruitment
January 04, 2012Jan 0401:28PM ETKeonna Farmer of Birmingham, Ala., has re-opened her recruitment. The junior at Center Point (Ala.) High School previously committed to the University of Alabama in November.
"I have decided to withdraw my verbal commitment to the University of Alabama," Farmer said via email, "I?ve been playing ball since I was seven years old, and feel that I owe it to myself to let the recruiting process play out for me.
"I would like to thank coach (Wendell) Hudson and the Bama staff for recruiting me. Alabama will be at the top of my list when the time comes."
The 6-foot-1 wing, rated a four-star prospect by ESPN HoopGurlz, considered the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Auburn, Florida State, Louisville and South Carolina before deciding on the Crimson Tide the first time.
Farmer has been averaging 15.8 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.9 steals and 1.2 blocks during her junior season at Center Point.
