Girls basketball: Vero Beach adds District 6-8A win

Kendall Hedgecock scored 19 points and Margie Smith added 12 Tuesday night as Vero Beach's girls basketball team defeated St. Lucie West Centennial 47-28 in a District 6-8A game at Centennial.
Meredith Flynn had 16 points for the Eagles (4-6, 0-2 district).
Centennial plays at Martin County at 7 p.m. Friday.
Jensen Beach 58, John Carroll 37: Ashley Robinson scored 28 points to lead the Falcons over the Golden Rams at Jensen Beach.
Sydney Townsend added seven points for Jensen Beach (6-12).
Palupcia Alcindor had 12 points for John Carroll.
Jensen Beach plays at Vero Beach at 7 p.m. Jan. 10.
Okeechobee 51, Sebring 38: Ami Edwards had 21 points, 18 rebounds and four steals as the Brahmans (6-8) beat the Blue Streaks at Sebring.
Okeechobee plays at Fort Pierce Central at 7 p.m. Thursday.
