Orlando, Fla. - Still basking in the euphoria of winning its first Sunshine State Conference Tournament game, Lynn University's women's basketball team received even more good news with the announcement of the All-SSC teams on Thursday. Kira Harvey was named the program's first SSC Freshman of the Year, Chelsea Patterson earned Second Team All-SSC honors and Harvey and Amanda Schultz were selected to the All-Freshman Team.
The Fighting Knights have had an All-SSC honoree for six consecutive years and now have 20 selections since 1999. In addition, the three players earning four all-conference honors are the most LU has garnered for a single season.

A native of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Harvey immediately made her way into the starting rotation at Lynn, recording 24 starts in 27 games. She was the team's second leading scorer, averaging 10.1 points per contest, while her .780 free throw percentage was also second-best among Fighting Knight players. Harvey averaged 4.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game.

Patterson emerged as the go-to player for LU following the graduation of All-SSC performer Jade Williams. She has not disappointed, leading the Knights and placing ninth in the conference in scoring (13.8 ppg) and second in assists (5.0 assists per contest). She became the second player in program history to log a triple-double when she tallied 27 points, 12 assists and 11 rebounds against Florida Southern. Patterson's 135 assists on the year are the fifth most in program history and most since the 1997-98 season. The Largo, Fla., product is also two points shy of 1,000 for her career.

Schultz developed into a tough bench player for the Blue & White, one who is willing to grab the rebound in traffic and can knock down the open jumper. She averaged 5.0 ppg and 3.6 rebounds an outing while logging four double-figure scoring contests.

Lynn is 17-10 overall and 10th in the South Region. The Fighting Knights, the fifth seed in the 2010 BlueCross and BlueShield of Florida Sunshine State Conference Women's Basketball Championships, battle the top-seed Tamp on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the Nova Southeastern Arena. This marks the third meeting between these two schools this season with LU winning 52-50 at home on January 9, and Tampa taking a 74-67 overtime victory on February 6.
