It amazes me the number of weirdos that are associated with girls basketball whether it be on the sideline or in cyber space. One thing I do know is that you have to let a fool be a fool and a coward be a coward. Now that I am over pneumonia, I wanted to wrap up the Lady Rams season.
AAU Nationals results: The 6th grade mad it to the winners bracket and didn't do much from there. The 8th grade made it to the 2nd round of the classic consolation bracket. The 10th grade placed 11th in DIV II. The 16u placed 7th or 8th.
I think the season for all Lady Rams teams ended pretty good. The 16u had a chance to beat the Ohio Lady Attack and the Cal Sparks until Antionette Bannister was injured in both games. The team was without UNC commit, Hillary Fuller for both games. The Rams actually lead both teams by as much as double digits but couldn't hold on to clinch the wins in both games after the injury to Bannister. In the final two tournaments with Michael White, the Rams combined some 6th and 8th grade together to play up in the 16u division; 9th and 10th grade to play in the 17u division and 10th and 11th grade to also play in the 17u divisions. A lot of players went to camps to get some work in and maybe some exposure. Overall, the teams won some and lost some but it was a good experience for all. The season ended with the 6th grade and the 8th grade combining to win the 8th grade Fall Classic and the 4th grade won DIV II AAU Nationals.
Considering the players that have graduated, I think the Jax Lady Rams played decent ball for this season. They just about dominated each age group they competed in within Florida with multiple teams winning States and Super Regionals. For this to be a grassroot team like South Florida Jaguars, I personally think they did pretty good compared to other recruited teams that we have in Florida. The team still compete's in the tougher divisions. Its a tall order to work with whatever players that shows up to practice and not have to rely on recruiting.
