I am with you Mayor.  The Lakeland Cavs don't get enough credit. Those coaches have done a very good job with those girls.
I wish I was up there to check out the talent. We have been down here getting ready for the Nike Midwest Tourney.
Everyone tells us that we are going to have our hands full. There is supposed to be a lot of talent up there.

I agree about the Lady Cavs.  They looked good at SF 2.  Definitely were physical.

Mayor:  Did the Rams end up playing PC Ballers last weekend?  If so, what was the score?

Coach Billy,
I got your email. Thanks. I didnt know that you had this message board.  Good to see your continued growth!  As for AAU States... is there a such thing as rewind???  Ouch!  Big Congrats to the Rams.  I watched them and its amazing what Coach Bannister is able to do and the level of play that those Rams maintain with just 8 girls!  I'd go out on a limb and say that theyre Florida's best this year (from what I've seen).  It was so nice to look across the court and see Mayor there pulling for the Cavs.  Thanks for the encouraging comments about the Cavs. Spring Fling2 & AAU States were eye-openers and so we're making the changes to guarantee the results that a team of our potential should have.  The Cavs will definitely be at the Lady Jags Invitational and we would love to see everyone that can attend join us in what should be a fun weekend!  Last year was awesome, especially for a first time event.  The Jags did a fantastic job and the competition was FIERCE!  This year, Im sure, will be even better.  Hint, hint Dashuh.  ;)

Mayor:

Thanks for the comments.  Wellington has worked hard to gain respect and just to be mentioned with some of these established programs has been fulfilling.  I've had most of this group together for a few years now and these girls can still recall the early donkey whuppings we took along the way.  But we hung in there and got better each year.  We have had alot of fun this year and are looking forward to stepping up to AAU Nationals D-1 for the first time.  We're also going to go to the Peach State Summer Invitational after Nationals.

Mayor,

I think the Red team is making some changes in response to my criticisms on my site.    They had 12 players at Spring Fling.     Last year all of us came to the conclusion that less is more.      They moved one player  (Wilson) to the 15U team at AAU states.      I think they probably should have moved two others.

I think they have two many point guards.    Personally, my favorite PG on the team is Robinson.    I think the PG position is crucial and I think the incumbent PG should not have to be looking over her shoulder for the hook when she makes mistakes.      It seems to undermine the flow of the team.

Whatever the case, Jack and Garfield continue to tinker with the team, believing that AAU Nationals and Nike Nationals are the goal, not these in-state skirmishes.      However, this is the first year since 2000 that the Comets Red have not won the Florida Association championship.     That had to hurt some.

I didn't see the 16U team play at AAU states.    I was only there on Saturday and only saw the 13U teams play.    The Florida Angels beat the Orlando Blue Thunder for the championship by 7 points.      The Blue Thunder beat the Comets in the semis by 2 (again).    I keep hearing the Jags have a king hell 13U team.   I want to see them play against the Angels.

I received an email from Billy Carson and checked it out.  I didn't know what was going on with the Breakdown board but I like a place we can talk about Florida basketball.
