2011 Junior Orange Bowl Middle School Basketball Classic

The second annual Junior Orange Bowl Middle School Basketball Classic will be held Friday & Saturday, April 8th & 9th at Miami Springs Community Center located at 1401 Westward Drive in Miami Springs.  Eight middle school varsity teams for both boys & girls will be participating.  First round games will begin on Friday at 4:00 PM.  Second round games will be Saturday morning and third round will be Saturday afternoon.  Girls' championship is scheduled at 5:30 PM and Boys' championship game is schedule at 6:45 PM.  Girls' teams scheduled to compete are Norland, Ammons, Miami Springs, Devon Aire, Hammocks, Campbell Drive, Aspira Charter, and North Miami.  Boys' teams will be Richmond Heights, Hialeah Gardens, Arvida, Devon Aire, Citrus Grove, South Dade, Carver & Norland.  Admission will be $3 with children under 8 admitted free.  Once schedules are confirmed with coaches, we will post the brackets.

We ended the day with North Miami beating Ammons for the girls' championship 48 - 38.  Miami Springs took 3rd place.  We had a great response from parents, coaches & players from all around the county.  Great day and great competition.  We look forward to next year to bring the best 8 teams in the county together for 3 great games.
