I had a chance to catch up with 6-foot-2 perimeter threat Kaela Davis from Norcross (Georgia) High after her performance in the All-Southeast Showcase this past weekend. In talking about her recruiting, Davis seems to be wide open in her thoughts as far as a potential college choice goes. Although she does have a family connection to Candace Parker that resulted in an early affinity for the Lady Vols and her collection of UT apparel, Kaela said this week that she would consider going anywhere in the country to play and likes a whole host of schools including Auburn, DePaul, Duke, Georgia, Oklahoma, Purdue, South Carolina, Stanford, Tennessee, UConn, UCLA and Virginia amongst others. Davis appears to be a lock to stay in the Top Five nationally throughout her high school career and a surefire two game (McDonald's/WBCA) All-American.

Kaela Davis is the daughter of former NBA player Antonio Davis

Kaela Davis, a 6-foot-2 guard who just completed her freshman year at Norcross (Ga.) High, announced via Twitter on Monday night that she has committed to play basketball for Tennessee.

Davis, the daughter of former NBA player Antonio Davis, helped Norcross to the Class 5A state championship by scoring 21 points in a 76-63 victory over Redan, the defending state champion that had a 58-game winning streak snapped.

Davis played last season with Briana Jordan, daughter of former Atlanta Falcons and Braves standout Brian Jordan, and Diamond DeShields, daughter for former major leaguer Delino DeShields. DeShields also is a 6-2 sophomore.
