I just got word from Assistant Director of Scouting Keil Moore that Lauren Mincy from University High in Newark, NJ has verbally committed to Maryland. Mincy - who has been a constant fixture in our Class of 2010 Top Five nationally - made her decision after attending Elite Camp this past weekend. With the turnover on the Terrapin roster, the 5-foot-10 wing should be in a position to make an immediate impact in the fall of 2010. Keil and I watched Lauren play a couple of weeks ago and she is definitely a player who should be an All-American next spring.
Sophomore 5-9 guard Tia Gibbs from Butler High in Louisville, Kentucky has made the choice to transfer from Vanderbilt University to the University of Louisville. Gibbs will have to sit out the 2009-10 season and have three years of eligibility remaining.
